        Good value for money

Smokers standing outside restaurant and other areas smoking through which we had to walk into to get to the inside and leaving all their fagends on the ground right outside the entrance doors

The irony of staying somewhere so old fashioned

We noted they run 50s,60s and 70s weekends. Just how do they make it modern enough for 1970s events ?

      • Family with children

ease and convenience for a local stay and good value

Food was not great - and decor of dining room v old fashioned and cheap - old crockery

My 3 year old grandchild loved the evenings entertainment, couldn't get her to go home. It was very convenient to us visiting a family friend in Lowestoft. Having breakfast and an evening meal provided was really advantageous, and they were quite good. I think it is suitable for a younger child or an older person like myself.

This was my 2nd trip to Pontins Pakefield in a month. The first time round the room was clean and tidy. But I returned from my last trip last Sunday and was very disappointed. The room was not up to standard and I have already complained in a previous email to Booked.net, and I also complained on my way out. The bath was dirty and had not been cleaned. There was an empty Harbo Sweet Packet under the main bed. The child's room (twins beds) - the floor was filty and had not been cleaned. Only for the fact that I was there 2 nights visiting a friend in Lowestoft, I would have made a lot more fuss about the room. I need to return to Lowestoft in 4 weeks time, and I am hoping that this time the room is spotless.

Seems very dated, rooms could benefit from redecorating and new carpeting. All seemed bit shabby but was very cheap so I feel you get what you pay for.

Great value for money, if you know what to expect, you'll be very happy but don't go here if you're used to white fluffy robes and matching slippers. Kids loved it and we'll definately go again!

The rooms carpets were water stained and very old, the whole complex could do with a bit of an update.

The family loved the sports facilities, especially the pool! Also, we loved the proximity of the rather nice beach.

The only problem was that although the whole resort was clean and well-maintained, we felt that all of the buildings were looking a bit 'tired'.

I thought the staff were very pro-active and it was very good value for money. The rooms were clean and plenty of hot water available. .Love Pontins atmosphere - brings back good memories.

The camp is generally tired looking and needs updating. Changing the carpets in the chalets and communal areas would make a big difference. Also non smoking signs in the rooms as ours was very smelly.

Friendly and helpful staff help sort an issue straight away, fun restaurant, food appealed to my children which is normally a issue, kids loved the play areas, crazy golf, pool, shop on site, entertainment, BINGO,shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom, everything you need for a fun filled family get away

Baths are small. When given they key to our room I went to check it out first, the cleaners had not yet cleaned it, disappointing but the staff were amazing they sorted it out straight away by up grading us to their luxury accommodation, Thank you Pontins great time had by all. Baths are small though!!

The complex is very spacious, with lots of activities and facilities for children. Small child play area/ playground was great. Crazy golf/ games room/ playing field and court and the high wire stuff was excellant. High wire staff were particularly friendly and encouraging. There is also a plenty of evening/bar venues with an entertainment programme. Never had a problem finding a seat.

The accomodation is dismal with dated dirty faded carpets and curtains that look as if they were purchased in the eighties. It was seriously dated and you could feel the springs through the mattress. The venues were equally dated. We spent the evening sat on the plastic chairs you usually find in a school. We were on half boad basis. The dining expeience has a conveyor belt/ school canteen feel about it. Food cheap and aweful with little choice. I queued 30 mins for an omelette which was on of the few edible menu options. Some staff were friendly in but badly trained and with little knowledge of the areas they were looking after. Dining staff were too busy and often grumpy. The activities programme was a chaotic shambles. It was really hard to find out what happened where and again staff seemed uninformed. I am still clueless as to whether half of the activities advertised on the website actually took place. We had a Haven site holiday earlier in the year...there is no comparison. I suggest those in charge book a visit there to see how it's done! Hat and putting hands in pockets and paying for some refurbishments. All a shame really as the location and potential of the activities available is pretty good.

the kids enjoyed the Beach and africa alive

bathroom dirty from floor to Windows. sink and bath dirty

The only good thing about Pontins was the childrens activities.

The place was run down, dirty and of a low standard.I will be writing direct to Pontins on the latter and have photographic evidence to show how poor the facilities were. I can only suggest you remove Pontins Pakefield from you website so other people are not disappointed.

It's in a lovely setting, it is also a very good for children, in fact it is worked out very well for the children to be kept busy and safe.

The dinning part needs better organision, breakfast was nice. But the evening meal really does need looking at, on two evenings I saw cooks tipping new food on top of old food which should never be done, then there this the fact that if you didn't get to the dinning room early they didn't replace the desserts. I would recommend Pakefield as it was a well kept place, but I would also tell them not to expect to much from the food side.

      • Family with children

The holiday park is very poor, as you enter the park, there are no signs to where the reception is, the decor is very poor, chalets were freezing cold and the half bath/shower was in poor condition, very dirty. The food was attrocious, worse than a school canteen, the burgers were like pieces of hard rubber and veg out of tins tipped under heaters to stay warm and the next morning there was no hot or cold water to have drinks at breakfast time, my 3 year old had to suffer not having a drink. Entertainment was satisfactory in the evening, cheesy but ok, we were pleased with location as we were here to see family during the day but would looking at the summer prices we would never pay that amount for this type of place.

Nothing.. Will be sending a letter to the management and hoping to get a refund as we cut short our stay and came home early as it was so bad.

On arrival were werent given a welcome pack or directions just a map with were the car park was and our room number, nothing to tell us what was on were to go nothing!! Outside our room was littered with cigerette buts broken glass and bottle tops? The fact it took two hours to get toilet roll for our room and then to be swore at by one member of staff and told to buy it myself as it wasnt there responsibility to provide it. .. half the resort was closed due to a organ convention. The food was extremely bad the cantering staff were un helpful and had bad attitudes the drinks machines were not working. The food options were very limited and several people other than us were complaining also.
